Mike, I read one of the chapters, the one dealing with the gnostic thought that is emerging, and it was great. I will check this out. I just finished a D.Min class on contemporary preaching, which was great. Also, what do you think of the Post Liberal approach?

Qb, Thanks for the recommendation. I will add it to my Amazon wish list. I guess that flew under the “preaching books” radar since I normally don’t think of preaching when I hear Brueggemann’s name…though I have heard him preach and he is a very effective preacher.

Rex, I just finished Brueggemann’s _The Word Militant: Preaching a Decentering Word_ (2007). Provocative and energizing, heavily infused with the prophetic literature in the Bible, and with a fine foreword by Will Willimon. qb
