Rochester College
2009 May 19
I continue to be impressed with the vision that’s being cast by Rochester College. I’ve loved catching up on the current emphases of the school recently through emails with Rubel (the interim president) and through visits with John Barton, the provost (and a visiting professor at ACU this week).
In case you don’t know much about what’s going on there, check this site.

My study has been enriched this year by reading these books by Michael Gorman:
Apostle of the Crucified Lord: A Theological Introduction to Paul and His Letters
Are you kidding me? The president of the university is giving his phone number, his email address, and telling people they will hear back from him? You have to like that.
Sure do love John & Sara Barton….
I believe Rubel was just named fulltime president, the interim was removed a few weeks ago. Good for Rochester if that’s the case!
My nephew is headed to Rochester College next fall and I am excited for him. Have been at several of the RC Sermon/Resource Seminars and keeping up on the focus of the school, I have been really pleased. While other schools affiliated with the CoC may be able to offer a wider variety of academic education, RC is in no way insuperior to any of the other universities/colleges when it comes to educating students for a way of life and worldview. In fact, RC may have surpassed some other educational institutions.
Grace and peace,
Rex
Good things going on at Rochester. I looked around to find out more about Gorman. His books sound really fine. Planning to try him out sometime soon.
