For iphone apps my walking partner and I enjoy trailguru. We can keep track of how far we are walking, how fast we are walking plus our elevation….and in the event that we get lost in the neighborhood we can call for help and give our exact longitude and latitude.

Swine flu; “over it, over hyped?” Perhaps, but a shifted strain of influneza is what killed 50 million people in 1918. The ONLY way to stop spreading the disease is to KEEP PEOPLE AWAY FROM EACH OTHER. That’s what you are not understanding. Influenza is the number 1 vaccine preventable killer of children in the US. Until you have lost someone over a “overhyped” hugely transmittable disease, you will think again. Wait until the fall. The past two pandemic’s of influenza started like this, and 5 months later hit with a vengance. Sorry, Im in infectious disease…soap box moment.

Our Delta flight from Atlanta to LAX was so full yesterday, they must of had a cancellation in the system. Someone coughed and sneezed the entire flight-so much for protecting people. You got upgraded-I am jealous.

Swine flu. Over it. I have closets that need to be cleaned out, though, in case we get quarantined. Either way, I’m good.

I wrote an article about Easter for the ARN and the first comment was a TIRADE (not completely anonymously, but close) about silly traditions for religious holidays (Easter bunny, egg hunts) that the article had not even mentioned, then it launched into ‘you are so evil and call it religion and sleep with whoever you want’… No point in responding, but yikes. Where is the filter?

The iPhone apps I’m currently using most are the iTalk (recording device) for interviews, Grocery IQ for my shopping list, the game Scramble — for wasting time, I guess!, and the Kindle app. I am LOVING the Kindle app, but fear that combined with amazons ‘one-touch’ purchasing, could get me in very big trouble…! I use twittelator. Not crazy about it. May try some of those mentioned.

Do you remember the old story of the boy who cried wolf? That’s how I feel about this swine flu hoopla.

As to iPhone apps: Shazam is a favorite for me, too; also Grocery IQ, iTV (I add a movie to my Netflix cue when I’m at the store looking at it rather than trying to remember it until I get home), AllRecipes has a recipe spinner that’s great when I can’t think of what to cook for dinner. And, of course the Amazon.com one gets plenty of use.
