I know I’m a little late in posting this, but I’d really encourage people to check out what True Lift is up to… True Lift (under the direction of Jeremy Johnson and Alan Beard) has created some fantastic hymns collections as well as two great contemporary praise CDs: “Songs of Worship” and “My Everything.”

I have a poor, weary class at ACU trying to find good lament songs that match themes in the Psalms of lament (because they have such as an assignment). Just curious Mike if you have a top ten list of singable laments.

Caleb Cox, our worship minister, and our praise team is doing a terrific job of calling our hearts to that place of quiet rest near to the heart of God. Caleb and the team know how to move out of the way and let God and His Son Jesus receive all the praise. Their work is the Spirit of Jesus doing what He does to bless at Southeast church in Denver, but Caleb also has helped the great church at Littleton CO as well.

The Memorial Drive Church of Christ in Tulsa did a Christmas cd titled “Christ Has Come” in 2007 to support our medical mission team. We’ve raised over $3,500 to date. You can hear some clips by going to my blog and clicking on the “Christ Has Come” link in the sidebar.

We’re getting ready to record our next cd. It will be titled “Brand New: Songs to Start Life Over”. We hope it will be a great outreach tool. Should be released this fall.

Some other churches whose cd’s I love are Richland Hills and First Colony.

we’re a hippie church so were stuck with the music when artist come through town like Pierce Pettis, Beth Moore, David Wilcox, Steve Forbert and others. Dave Madden a Berklee grad leads often.

The best part of the Westside CD, Carry Me, is that it’s nearly all original music by Josh Stump (our awesome worship guy) and Jennifer Davis (who seems to have talent in every area!). Good stuff. I’m a bit biased, however, since I have the great joy of preaching every Sunday at Westside!

Won by One is AMAZING! Absolutely — I have 2 of their CD’s and we just welcomed 2 of their former members at church and already have them plugged into praise team!

SoHills is blessed with abundant vocal talent. (I’m not bragging on myself — there’s a reason I interpret for the deaf! — I’m bragging on my talented husband and his cohorts!) Every once in a while, they toss around the idea of a recording, but nothing yet. We’ll let you help us get the word out when we do.
