Time to Meet New Dogs in Durham

For a couple months, this beautiful little girl lived here with us. She spent about half the time in this house and half the time with her other grandparents. Her parents were suspended between medical school and residency.

For a couple months, she ran around the house, patted our dogs, acquainted herself with other dogs in the neighborhood, sang, danced, laughed, and brought great joy.

She now lives in Durham, NC. Her dad is doing his internal medicine residency at Duke. For some reason, her mommy and daddy felt like she needed to make the move with them.

I miss her.

A lot.

Thanks to all you wonderful people at the Southwest Central Church of Christ in Houston who loved her for the first year of her life — and for pouring your love on her parents for four years. They’ll never forget it. Nor will I.

Southwest Central Church of Christ knows how to bless God and I love them for it.

She is so beautiful. I hope you get to visit her often, or she’ll come here.

Reese just gets cuter and cuter by the day! I am so thankful that she has such wonderful, Spirit-saturated parents who will teach her to love and fear the Lord. I am also very thankful to know that you and Diane as well as Jim and Jody will help sharpen, shape, and guide her precious soul to Jesus. She is a doll! I bet you had such a fun sacred time with her and her parents.

    Mike,

My family and I are proof that you can live in North Carolina for several years and return to your Texas roots to reside within a half day drive of family. God willing, they’ll be close to you in three “short” years. Besides, one can live on pork barbeque for only so long!

We at Southwest Central have loved working in the Kingdom with Matt and Jenna for the past few years in Houston and we have especially loved watching Reese grow for a year. I miss them terribly already and I know that the sentiment is hugely magnified for you guys. It is amazing how exciting life is when you view it, even briefly, through the eyes of a precious angel. I pray that they find a wonderful family of believers to work with in Durham. I know they will hit the ground running (they have to keep up with Reese)!
