Here are a couple pictures from Matt’s graduation from Baylor College of Medicine. We had a great couple days in Houston to celebrate. Soon Jenna, Matt, and Reese will be heading to Duke for his residency.

All right. So I stink at picking Final Four teams. Maybe American Idol prognosticating is my thing.

From April 3 blog:

This is my first year to really watch “American Idol” (as in setting the DVR and even watching with fast-forward after church). I’ve been inspired by three nieces. As a 51-year-old uncle, I have to fight to be relevant.

My money’s on David Cook. The guy can rock. Who do you think? (Please don’t leave me hanging here. I just admitted that I’ve been watching “American Idol”!)

Good job on looking into the American Idol crystal ball, Mike! After Michael Johns so abruptly exited AI, I threw myself behind Cook. He certainly seemed to be the most musically talented. Good for him!

We were backing David C. too. He did it! It will be interesting to see where this takes him. And what a great looking family. They look so young and excited about the future. May God bless them richly.

Congrats Mike. American Idol – who cares? Dale got kicked off of Top Chef – I smell something fishy there!

Mike, have you and your son ever had a conversation about the Christian Medical and Dental Associations (CMDA)? Dr. John Patrick (www.johnpatrick.ca) has a long and distinguished record of clinical practice, particularly in central Africa with malnourished children, and he has been a real force in the integration of distinctively Christian ethics into medicine. To hear Patrick speak on Hippocratic and patient-centered medicine is an exhausting but thrilling and inspiring experience. His Augustine College in Ottawa is devoted to teaching young people the history of ideas so that they are better equipped to embody (and defend, if necessary) Christian virtue and ethics, especially as medical professionals and as members of local churches.

Congrats to Matt, his success, his graduation and his family. I was a first year coach when Matt was our Middle Linebacker at A.H.S. Very happy to see him become so accomplished. I know you are a proud father.

Congrats to your son & all the family, but I have to say that little Miss Reese steals every picture, & I expect, did the same during the ceremony. :)
