I thought Baylor fans were thrilled just to be IN the tournament (given recent history!). But to pick them in the Final Four? That’s a confidence in modern day miracles that we have to admire.
And I know it’s hardly permitted to like both Duke and UNC. It goes back to our brief time in North Carolina. In Wilmington, we were far enough from the triangle cities to not have to pick a favorite.
Like others, I too am a little shocked with your fan support of both UNC and Duke. While I respect Duke (and the Yankees, the Patriots, the Lakers), I love to see them fall. Here’s my picks…

I don’t even remember my bracket picks except that Memphis wins the whole thing. Not that I have a soft spot for Memphis or anything.

Mike, I bet you picked Memphis to lose to Pitt, just like all the other yahoos on ESPN. I can’t fault you for picking your team against my team.

Duke?? Good luck with that. I got: North Carolina; Pittsburgh; UCLA and Kansas. UCLA over Kansas in the finals. Stone cold lock.
Memphis needs to join a stronger conference. Memphis in the Big East would be awesome, but woe unto their football team…

Actually Jeff, Memphis simply needs to keep on winning. The Big East had their chance when they raided Conference USA a couple years ago and took a bunch of our teams, and they didn’t want Memphis then, so they don’t deserve Memphis now.
Eventually everyone out there will learn to respect them as a real team and not some “mid-major”.
Bold prediction: C-USA wins all three post-season tournaments. Houston in the CBI, UAB in the NIT, and Memphis in the NCAA.

Bears look great in slippers! Of course in our annual family bracket challenge with the Boone’s I may not have Baylor going to the final four, but I might! Last year I think that each of our family’s 5 year old ballet stars were leading the bracket for most of the tournament. My daughter picked North Carolina because it sounded like her good friend Caroline.
