Stream – Franklin

2008 January 28
by Mike

What a joy to be with Ken and Marca Young again — this time at Stream-Franklin. Thanks so much to the gracious blog reader who brought me fresh guacamole to take back to my motel! I’d never been with the 4th Avenue congregation, but what a wonderful bunch.

You can catch up on the Hallal ministry here.

Mike, it was a pleasure to meet you and to be brought into the Throne room by you this weekend. I’m so thankful that Diane and your elders (and most likely someone else) made the exception for you to be at Stream. I pray for you and your time of renewal that you will experience it fully!

How wonderful that your granddaughter is getting first-hand experience at such a young age!

As I sit before God this afternoon, I’m listening to Hallal’s newest CD. I believe it’s their best ever. You can find it here.

    Mike,

I wholeheartedly enjoyed the words which poured from you this weekend. They were truly streams of water.

I grew up in Searcy and attended the College CoC where Debbie and Richard Duke brought me on Wednesday nights as a boy. Wonderful people.

As I grew older, my faith and childhood deteriorated when my parents split (literally), and I was forced to grow up too soon in many ways. Your book, “Righteousness Inside Out” was and has been crucial to my spiritual development.

Thank you for sharing your gifts with me again.

You let them take her to all the way to Guatemala? Well… of course you did. That sweet, sweet girls is going to grow up with such a rich heritage of servanthood! Not even 1 and already going on mission trips! I love that! Way to go Matt and Jenna!

you say you were the featured speaker at stream, but i know that i saw you up there sharing Jesus … Jesus … Jesus. however, when i was reading through the book for stream, jeff walling must have paid a lot of money to have his name put in there instead of yours. ;-) i looked right past it, but my very smart, and very observant daughter noticed that jeff’s name was listed as the featured speaker, but your picture was there instead of his.

i also want to say that i really enjoyed listening to you, and how you have reminded me and my family that my lifestyle is mentioned in the bible (ecc 8:15) its great to know that we are to have fun. i was already doing it, but it is good to know that it really wasn’t my idea.

i also want to say that when my wife and i were asked to describe you, since they had no idea who you were (sorry!), that we described you as a rather calm and nondemonstrative (not sure if that is a word or not) type speaker. after friday night we were asked, “you calm that calm?” you were great! we look forward to your next album, too! LOL!
