If you are talking about what I think you are talking about these picky regulations have been going on all of my 56 years!!
What a great quote from such a great person! Larry Stookey is my friend and colleague here at Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, DC. It has been a source of neverending delight to be his colleague. Just last week we celebrated his 36 years of teaching preaching on our faculty with a special worship service. The highlight for me was when his cousin Paul Stookey, as in Peter, Paul, and Mary, sang during communion.
Anything Larry writes is worthy of serious reflection.
Wonder what the Jewish people thought of their “picayune” regulations? We have it easy compared to them.

Speaking of dying institutions…Southlake football, anyone? So proud of the boys from Abilene, although I must admit that I hope they lose this weekend. My cousin is the head coach at Hebron!
