I know you’re waiting for my predictions before you place your bets. So here they are.
Red Sox over Indians.
Rockies over D’backs.
Red Sox over Rockies.
Take it to the bank.

Just in case you didn’t know, the Cowboys are 5-0. You know you’re on a roll when your QB throws 5 interceptions and you still win.

Here was my evening: the Yankees lost . . . the Cowboys won with two seconds left . . . and my granddaughter was in our arms. Now THAT is a good evening.
How many Cowboy fans went to bed thinking we lost? I’m having trouble believing anyone can hit against Sabbathia and Carmona, but the same can be said of Beckett and Shilling. Be careful what you ask for - what if Steinbrenner replaces Torre with a really good manager that is not nearly so gracious as Joe?
I could care less about the Yankees and the Cowboys, but reading about your granddaughter more than made up for that.
Tina,
I will pray for you.
For the division series, I was wrong with my NL predictions but right with my AL predictions.
So maybe 2 out of 3 won’t be so bad.
Indians v. Red Sox = Indians (in 7 games)
Rockies v. Diamond Backs = Rockies (in 6 games)
Rockies v. Indians = Indians win their first world series since 1942 (?) in seven games.
Patriots vs Cowboys could be the game of the year… Just imagine how much the Pats will win by if they let us cheat (joke)… Its a good year to be in New England!
Mike:
Red Sox over Indians.
Rockies over D’backs.
Red Sox over Rockies.
Kathy:
Sox over Indians [but my heart is really with the Indians!]
Rockies over D’Backs [my surrogate Padres need to keep the roll going and it'll probably come down to the last game to decide this one.]
ROCKIES over Sox in 7 [See above ]
Hard to count out the D’Backs. They’re a tough team and very determined to win, by any means possible. But Rockies seem to have that “team of destiny” look about them. Hope it continues.
Yes! You picked the Sox over the Tribe! Go Tribe!
How can you hate the Yankees and like the Cowboys? The Cowboys are the Evil Empire of the NFL.
Did you hear the news about the Rockies deciding to give a full payoff share to the widow and her family of the minor league coach, Mike Coolbaugh, who was killed by a line drive. That cinches it for me as to who to root for this playoff season. Plus Rockies’ coach Clint Hurdle is a wonderful Christian man.
You can read about it here:

Peace.
playoff share, that is.
I see your tune has changed regarding the Sox, Mike. First, they’re out in the first round. Now, they’re the Series champions. I’m glad you’re finally seeing the light.
Basically, the Series championship will be decided by who emerges in the American League. None of the NL teams can hang with the Indians or Red Sox. Sox in 5 games over the Indians, then 4 games over the Rockies.
All this hate in your heart, Mike, is starting to worry me. Should I go to God on your behalf?
The question is…
Are the Cowboys that good (in pulling that off)…or…
Are the Bills that bad (their offense couldn’t even muster their own share of points)?
Also, Romo did fumble once too. That’s 6 turnovers by one person! And they still won? Credit should go to the Cowboys defense.
I’m still smarting from the sweep. Would it have been different if my boys were healthy?
My neighbor is a Rockies fan, so I’m flipping over to his side for a while.
I am going with the Rockies…
and we need to give credit to Mr. Folk who had to kick TWO 53-yard field goals to win the game!! What a crazy game-I can’t believe Romo turned the ball over 6 times and they still won!!
Steve: “None of the NL teams can hang with the Indians or Red Sox. Sox in 5 games over the Indians, then 4 games over the Rockies.”
You must love surprises, Steve. I still hope the Indians are ALCS winners, but agree with you on the Sox. Where we part company and where you’re in for a surprise, at least that’s my hope,is the Rockies over the Sox in 7. Plus - it’s time for the All Star game to go to the NL too!!!
Sox over Indians in 5. C.C. and Fausto will be tough, but the Red Sox offense can actually play in October, so games 3 and 4 should go to the Sox. (How about that $25 million dollar man? At least he finally got a HR and RBI. Yeah, he was worth it.)
As for the NL, I know nothing about either team. I can’t stand watching games when pitchers hit, so I never watch NL games. Therefore, I’ll jump on the Rockies bandwagon for no other reason than I want to see what Big Papi can do in Denver in October.
Well Paul, welcome to the Rockies’ camp - however, must disagree with you about NL and pitchers batting. It makes for a more interesting logistical game, imho. Also, being somewhat of a purist, prefer it as was originally planned; with only nine on a team rather than 10.
im convinced that Sam’s belief in the Yankees has kept them in the running..it was a sad night at our house last night even after the unbelievable happening at the end of the Buffalo game..
Never before while watching a football game have I gone from such rage to pure elation!
I’m a Sox fan, but I’m reluctant to predict a Sox series win over the Indians. I think they can pull it off, though, because they have home field.
I’ll be pulling for the NL all the way, but I can’t imagine anyone beating the Sox. If I didn’t love Steve Holt(s), that would really hurt.
Rockies! Just because I want the coaches widow to get some big money for her three kids! I’m a mom. What can I say?
So are you going to show us pictures of that sweet girl or what?
Tony Romo is great.
Go Cowboys!!!!!
Thanks, Matt. Feel free to pull for any team you wish without an ounce of loss of love from the Steve Holts.
Nice post.
I hope you’ll surf on my diary..
Bye
