Someone I’d like you to meet. The subject of my prayers; the object of my joy; a new love of my life.
Reese Cope made her entry into the world yesterday at 7 pounds, 11 ounces.

Here she is with the boys. (My beautiful daughter-in-law had experienced a full day, beginning at 1:30 a.m. She thought she might wait for today for a blog picture!)

A quarter of a century ago this month we welcomed her father into this world.

Congratulations. She is beautiful. There is nothing the arrival of a new life.
Congratulations to you, Mike and Diane, and all of you! I’m so happy for all of you. What a joy! What another wonder of our almighty God. Praise His Name!
That is nice.
Now, hurry back. We have a game Friday. I need my pitcher back.
Wonderful!!
My grandfather (also a Gospel preacher) is one of the most influential people in my life. I’m happy for all of you.
Congratulations! May their tribe increase and the borders of their kingdom in His Kingdom spread! Most of all, may the grandparents spoil her rotten.
Peace.
Steve - I think I can assure you about the last part (on behalf of all four grandparents).
Charlie - Manager and pitcher will be there! By the way, what was Chris thinking in this picture? I know “to the Jews as a Jew” . . . and we ARE in Houston . . . but an Astros shirt? His niece should have seen a St. Louis Cardinals shirt in those earliest, formative moments!
Reese is absolutely beautiful! Congratulations. My prayer for her is that she will grow to be a disciple of great faith, fervent prayer, and ever-present humility, just like her parents:) Please give my love to Matt and Jenna.
These pictures say it all…. Reese “here I am” , Matt “I will always be here”, Chris “let’s have a ball”, Nana “precious, precious”, and Grandpa “I can hardly stand it, I want to grab her and not let go”. Thank you for sharing your lives with us. I am so happy for you all.
YAY!! Reese is absolutely beautiful-I know you have been waiting in great anticipation for her arrival!!
Congratulations to all and may she truly grow in the grace and love of God as she is surrounded by people who love her and can share that with her. (By the way she has a great middle name!)
Blessings~
See, Mike, I was just thinking how blessed she was to have Chris so properly adorned!
Congratulations!
Congratulations!
Congratulations to the entire Cope family, and to Reese. She is so blessed to be born into a family that loves God as you all do.
Congratulations to all of you! What a beautiful baby girl. And yes, she does have a great middle name.
I know she will grow up surrounded by love. Enjoy these first few precious days!
Saying Reese is beautiful would be an understatement. Congratulations to you and your family.
Congratulations to you and your family, I am jealous.
By the way is that an over 21 wrist band you are wearing?
Oh My Gosh…..She Is Gorgeous !
What a wonderful and blessed time for the Copes and Reeses.
Praise God!
Rob
Mike, she’s just wonderful. I am so jealous

And we eagerly await the day these lips proclaim, “Grampa!”
Cool beans!! and congratulations to you and the Reeses. I actually saw Jim putting the last few bags in his trunk yesterday on their way out of town and was able to give him my congrats then. You guy enjoy a day or two with your new grand daughter before you head back to Abilene. Drive safely back and God bless your travels.
How wonderful!! My parents (The James’ from Searcy) and sister were in the room for all three of my childrens’ births and it was great to have family so close to help welcome our new little ones to the world.
Precious Reese is a beautiful and blessed addition to your family!!
Praise God for a safe delivery and safe travel for all the family.
Congrats! I am going to have to “go forward” because I am SO jealous!
She is beautiful, just like her mom, her grandmom Diane, and her great-grandmom Anne.

Congratulations Mike and Diane!! I haven’t experienced having grandkids yet, although our Meredith has been married for two years. But I heard someone say that if they knew that grandkids were so much fun, they would have had them first. What a wonderful legacy you have begun for her.
Whooooppeeee!! Yay!!
She’s gorgeous - to be expected, quite frankly!

You could probably tell from my email, I had a feeling lunch would be cancelled yesterday. I am happy it was, Gramps. Congratulations. Now get back to dutifully spoiling her.
She’s just darling!! I love her name—feminine, yet strong. Love all the pix—-thanks for letting us in on your great joy!
Oh how I wish I could hold her!! Thanks for all the photos. Reese is wonderful–and the expresseions on all of your faces make me weep with joy for you.
Love to you all. Kathy S
Hi, Mike and Diane. Congratulations on a beautiful granddaughter!!!
First of all, it’s hard to believe Matthew is a quarter of a century old, much less old enough to be married, and even moreso a new daddy! I still picture him in a Little League uniform playing with Legos and stuff.
I am so happy for all of you! Hope y’all are doing well.
Congratulations!!!! We are all SO happy for you and your family. What a blessing!
Cigars?
Breath taking Beautiful!
I’m with Jill …hard to believe Matt is 25 and a Daddy!
I’m so happy for the Cope & Reese clan! Babies are proof that there is such a thing as love at first sight. Bask in these days with your new little love and keep the pictures coming Gramps!
PS A little friend of Rhett’s calls her grandmother (named Diane) “Di-nana.” Thought that was cute.
Congratulations! Trust me your life will never be the same. I am tearing up just thinking about the joy my sweet grandbabies have brought to my life.
Your have a beautiful family!
How great! Congratulations!
Ain’t it grand! ; )
I love how precious Chris looks in that picture! Clearly I don’t have any experience with the grandparent role, but besides the amazing joy of being a parent, there’s nothing quite like being a new aunt (or uncle in Chris’ case)! I remember when Zoe was born in the fall and dashing to Dallas and into the delivery room literally as she was born! Quite awesome! As for the spoiling factor… I also feel a bit more liberty to spoil my nieces and nephews! It’s kind of fun! My sister’s son turned two last week and I know he loves Rolo candies, so I naturally gave him his own package!
Blessings to your family. Isn’t it amazing with a universe as big as this, God chooses to bless us the most in amazingly tiny squirmy little packages!
Let the spoiling begin!
congrats mike!! on behalf of everybody from class, we are really happy for you man!! now get back for tuesday and teach us some bible!! =)
Congrats to entire family!
And Welcome to the new, wee one!
Mike,
Welcome to the grandparent club! I can see in the picture she already has you wrapped around her little finger. It only gets better from here on.
From Jerica and Cade’s,
CoCo
Congrats!
O God, You have taught us through Your blessed Son that
whoever receives a little child in the name of Christ receives
Christ Himself: We give thanks for the blessing You have
bestowed upon this family in giving them a child. Confirm
their joy by a lively sense of Your presence with them, and
give them calm strength and patient wisdom as they seek to
bring this child to love all that is true and noble, just and
pure, lovable and gracious, excellent and admirable,
following the example of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Amen.
Beautiful!
CONGRATULATIONS!!! I am printing the pics rught now to take up to Christine who is waiting anxiously to see this angel!
Grandparenting is wonderful!!!
Mindy
Congratulations to the Cope and Reese families! We are thrilled for all of you!
Ryan and Claudia
Mike, you look like a kid in a candy store, cooking up all kinds of things in your mind you and this grandbaby are going to do together. Dive in, brother, and go deep!
Congratulations.
Hey Mike,
I’m so happy for you and your family. Your world is now new and marvelous with this beautiful little girl. Blessings!
Glad you finally got your own grandkid. Now you can leave everyone else’s alone.
What a beautiful baby! What a wonderful name! What a blessing! What a great family! I love you guys, Mike!
What an incredible blessing. So happy for you all. And here in time for opening day in less than a week. Blessings, Cope’s! (What will you be called, Gramps?)
Congrats Mike and family - what a beautiful baby!
She is beautiful! Congratulations!
Yeah! She’s finally here! Congratulations to your family.
What a blessing!
Steve and I are giggling and hugging. Babies just make you feel oh so good. They are such a blessing.
Yippee!!!! Congratulations. God bless!
I still think of Matt as a chubby-cheeked toddler — it’s hard to realize that he’s a daddy! You all look so proud — congratulations! May God bless you all as you step into a new season of life — grandparenting for you, parenting for Matt and Jenna.
A beautiful addition to a beautiful family.
The happiest days are those when a baby arrives…..
Congrats! What a beauty she is. We love being Nana and Papa and I know you will, too. We have 5 little ones now and of course, they are just grand! Love to you all.
We are so happy for all of you.
We are about to eat dinner, and we’ll include a prayer of thanksgiving for Reese as we pray.
Tell Chris he looks like a good uncle.
Sara
well, I don’t seek out pictures of grandbabies, but that last one really is sweet. So Glad God has brought that little girl into your lives.
What a lovely child. I know that she will be a joy to you.
Keith
Too precious! May you all have wonderful years of sweet blessings.
God gives His gifts wrapped in many different packages. This is one of the most precious and beautiful. I pray God’s blessings on all of you as you guide little Reese through life. Mike and Diane, I just know you are going to be wonderful grandparents. I look forward to the day of her dedication before the congregation. There won’t be a dry eye in the house!
Mike — I never, never dream about you… it’s usually Princess Diana and me having lunch and griping about our in-laws… but I dreamed last night that you were abducted and held for ransom. Then I woke up this morning and you’re a grandpa. There has to be some deep meaning somewhere.
Congratulations! You are nothing but putty in her hands from here on out.
I am so happy for all of you. Being a grandparent is a two fold blessing. Not only do you get the experience of being the most special of people to the child, you get the experience to see your children being godly Christian parents. What a wonderful blessing all the way around.
Peace and prayers
Neva
Mike
Simply gorgeous! You are truly blessed.
Am planning to join the Grandparent club this summer, but will have to make do with a male of the species.:)
And Chris, way to represent ! GO STRO’s!
Mike -
I am so so so so excited for all of you! Having had 2 babies in 2 years, I know how wonderful and amazing and crazy and unfathomable the experience is for everyone. Please tell Matt and Jenna that Greg and I send our blessings - May Reese be a woman of strong and noble character, one who loves deeply and blesses many. I feel like I have become an aunt again!!! I love all of you!
E, Greg, Nathan & Zoe
BTW - I WILL see that baby in April in Abilene!!! Can’t wait!!!!
She looks like a Broadway Baby to me. Congratulations! She’s beautiful.
Reese is so beautiful and precious; and what a great name! Congratulations to everyone! Tell Diane thanks for her excited message she left on my phone yesterday! It was great to be included in the wonderful news! Love you all!
Mike,
Congratulations! God bless your family in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Praise God!
A beautiful baby! Congratulations to you all.
Dear God, Bless Reese with more and more of you every day she journeys back home until she is finally fully again with you. We look forward to the day those tiny lips will confess Jesus as Lord. No matter what her road is, may you always give her the faith to say, “Blessed be Your Name” Protect her God. Hold her Jesus like you did the kids in Mark 10. And comfort her Holy Spirit with all the peace of Heaven. Give her parents increasing wisdom, trust, and joy. And when Mike and Diane spoil her (and they will) will you please use that to teach precious Reese that is how you treat us - not as our sins deserve! With all the thanksgiving this new life brings, Amen
Was just looking at the pictures again (such a beautiful family!). Reese seems to be looking intently at her Uncle Chris. She can’t quite focus yet on his baseball kit, but we all know he’ll probably have her on the sand lot in a few short years! Has he been getting much practice with the phrase ‘Uncle Chris’?
Continued blessings!
I was so excited to click over and see pictures! Happiness abounds! Congratulations!!
Wow! Good new baby pictures, Mike. They’re hard to take to come out right, but those are really good. Congratulations.
We’ve been grandparents yet again some two weeks now (March 20th) with our latest granddaughter who lives here nearby and it is just as exciting each time, so hopefully you’ll have these joys again in the future.
You’ve got many exciting times ahead!
Cheers & Blessings to you all today! Dee
Ah isn’t Reese the cutest? She looks like you Mike.
Just wait until she calls you on the phone and say, “I wuv you.”
What a cutie!!!
Considering the gene pool, I can hardly wait to see what Reese becomes!! Congratulations grandma and grandpa. You’ve entered a very special state of being. Darryl Tippens
Awww! Thanks for sharing this moment with those of us out here in the blog world. You and Diane are gonna make the best g-parents! Congrats!
Harding friend, Mollie is a recent grandmother, and now Mike Cope is a grandfather. That is something I never thought about at Pattie Cobb.
Congratulations!
Congratulations! Please pass my well wishes on to the new parents.

May I be the 90th person on this blog to say congratulations?!
Sweet Reese, so adorable, so pure–it’s always a marvel to see one so close to heaven, just barely here. Blessings on the Cope and Reese families. I love you guys!
Carolyn
Blessings on all of your family, including the newest little treasure. God really is very, very good, isn’t he?
