You knew this was coming, didn’t you? (11-16-06 post)

- - - -

I’m back from the whirlwind trip to Nashville — emphasis on the WIND part since all but two runways of DFW were closed because of the 50 mph winds.

This Sunday is one of my favorite each year — sack Sunday.

I have more to post about choice and about contentment. Just no time at the moment.

I saw yesterday that the law had been passed. I think it’s truly pathetic, and am saddened by so many christians who’ve spoken out in support of it. It’s very different indeed from the way the Israel of God was called to treat the aliens in their land under the Law of Moses, isn’t it? Perhaps we forget that we, too, were once aliens and strangers and have lost/are losing our ability to relate.

    Mike, thanks for your support.

I would travel across a border illegally to feed my family.

I would also pay extra taxes to ensure ALL hard working people had food, shelter and healthcare.

This is a refreshing change from crack heads on welfare who will buy drugs for their habit but not drugs for their children’s health.

If you want to pass a bill, pass one against lazy ass white america who doesn’t know how work yet thinks the government owes them free healthcare.

The funny thing is that people are against such thngs until it really impacts those they love…from illegal immigration to even crack heads on welfare…sooner or later most of us have very difficult people or loved ones in our lives…in our families…drug addicts, gay folks, divorce, ‘diverse” grandchildren…I know most of it is impacting my little corner of the world.

    Hmmm..

I just hope they realize that what they’re doing is only going to bring conflict and doesn’t cultivate peace in their community. I really really pray that God show them the destruction of self-esteem, humanity and economy they are participating in. Can’t they just beg for a better system??

Mike- so after Dr. Burks’ next 5 year contract is up, I thought YOU could apply for President of Harding University? =) haha…

    Terry B-
Amen. I think it’s called life in the real world. Tends to affect one’s perspective in a humbling way.
