I got to meet Randy and Rhonda Tuesday at Cindy Owen's funeral. Rhonda may be the best preacher in the COC these days (no offense Mike). Lipscomb is truly blessed to have both of them there.

We really enjoyed having dinner with you too. Thanks for coming. And thanks for speaking in chapel, I actually stayed awake for once. :)

I hear Lipscomb is a fantastic school. This got me to reminiscing about chapel services--we had them twice weekly when I was in bible college (Dallas Christian College-www.dallas.edu). It was such a refreshing part of my week--having worship and being challenged on a regular basis (not to say I am not regularly challenged now, but you get the gist.).

DLU's basketball team plays the University of Missouri tomorrow night at 8:00 pm. The radio commentators this morning were asking,"who is Lipscomb University?" Division 1 is putting them on the map in middle America.

It was great to see and hear you today. I immediately called Jennifer and told her it felt like a little piece of home to hear you again. I know the students were blessed by what you shared.

I love all of the positive comments that are rolling in, it is cool to know that others are excited about what is happening around here. It is amazing to watch first hand...

My son is a senior at Lipscomb, and I wouldn't give anything for what he has received there. But he is very active in ROTC, and loves that too. Before you get too rough on him so was John York's son. Lipscomb is a great place, and I believe was the very best place for our son to be.

I began looking at LU with new eyes after taking Earl Lavender's "Living in God's Story: Spiritual Formation in Missions" as my last class in the ACU GST (he was adjuncting the summer offering). I thought, if Earl -- with his kingdom eyes, gentle demeanor, and transparency in the classroom -- is any reflection on the rest of the university, then this is one of our shining institutions.

I agree with your assessment of Randy and Rhonda–may they be blessed in their places of service.

And would you believe that Black, Holloway, Hicks and a far lesser known preacher in Florida all have their roots in a West Tennessee Christian College, lived in the same dorm, and somehow lived to experience the glories of ACU, LU, Pepperdine and parts beyond!

What was truly a joy was hooking up with our brothers and sisters from DLC, ACU, and HU and "enjoying" a challenging graduate experience in Memphis!

Little did we know then the spiritual formation we would receive from others and now have the opportunity to help others be formed in Him.

Peace.

Did you run into David Morris, Susan Bean Johnson, Kent Johnson, Tim Woodroof, or any other school-mates from your time at Harding while you were there? There are a BUNCH over there!

Mike,

My sister is currently attending Lipscomb and loving it. She debated on whether or not to go to state schools, but overwhelmingly chose Lipscomb because of the people there.

I will ask her if she hear you today.

God bless,

Chris Gallagher

Yes, Lipscomb had a view of the Kingdom that would benefit us if we shared it. Not being beholden to the governments of the world, and not relying on them to work on kingdom issues, but being citizens of the Kingdom of God and doing things that seem insane to citizens of kingdoms of this world.

DL was the man. ANd he and James Harding would be disappointed at the c of c were they alive today. Darn your texas Firm Foundation Mike!

Mike - So, are you posting this from Baja Burrito? Didn't know they had Wi-Fi yet. HA!! :-) If I had known ahead I could have floated over and listened to you speak. I think we ended up with the Japanese tsunami.

Lipscomb rocks!
