If you measure a game by W-L, then game one of the state tournament didn’t go so well today. We got killed by Lubbock Eastern.
If, however, you measure a game by the excitement of actually even BEING at the state tournament, then it was a good day.
Game two is tomorrow in this double elimination. We play Eagle Pass, and one team will then be through.

Mike…..saw earlier on the state tournament website where you guys had a little difficulty today. Hang in there friend ! It’s hard to believe three of our Highland guys are on this team…….and then there’s the Preacher ! Have heard lots of great things in the community how the team (regular team and all-star team) parents are talking about what a positive year it has been with you as coach…….in fact one went like this “my son has played a lot of baseball over the years but this year with Mike Cope as coach has been the best……really not trying to butter you up buddy I’m just telling you whats going around. I’m sure glad you are my preacher and I’m even more glad that I’ve been able to have Chris in my class on Wednesday nights. By the way….ask him about Cornelius and why he was important………as if you didn’t know.
