Thank goodness the Mavs are coming back to Dallas. It didn’t go so well in Miami. Too much humidity and too much Wade!
I had a great Father’s Day yesterday. After preaching at Highland, I drove back to Dallas to rejoin one son (along with Diane), who was there for a soccer tournament, and then we flew to Boston, meeting the other son. The big question today: Does anyone know how to score tickets for a sold-out Red Sox game? We’ll be outside Fenway nice and early with cash in hand. Surely someone has some seats!
Here’s the grand prize for the millionth hit: one free registration to either the Nashville or Fresno Zoe conference and a one year free subscription to wineskins.org. If you can’t make it to the conference, we’ll go with a signed copy of Darryl Tippens’s Pilgrim Heart. Unless Greg shows me how to track down the address of the person, we’ll have to do the honor system. It worked for 500,000. Just look at the counter when it gets close, and if you see 1,000,000, put a note in the comments.
Have a great day. Now . . . out to see Boston, one of my favorite cities.
Yeah, yeah… I hope all goes well in Boston… I just need to see how close I am!!!!
Would you like to use my box seats, season tickets????? Not!
One of our staff members here at the church grew up near Fenway and follows the Red Sox religiously–we believe a little too religiously. I will ask him if he has any recommendations.
When I was at Fuller, we used to go down to the Coliseum to see Kareen and Magic and we always bought tickets at the games, even sold out ones.
I just talked to Ken and he said, “Good Luck.” Give it your best shot outside the stadium.
Peace.
If you’re walking the Freedom Trail today, we’ll probably bump into each other. Chrissy’s mom and sister are in town, so we’ll be doing the same thing. How crazy…
Steve Jr. - Would love to hook up with you for lunch. Call Gina and get my cell phone #. I’ll have it on!
Hey! Grant and I had such a great experience getting to a Sox game last month I’m sure we can give you lots of tips!!!! HA!
Well, there is some rain in the forecast, Amy. But surely not . . . .
A lot of season ticket holders sell on ebay. Also check craigslist. This late, you’d have to pick up. But it might be just a short ride on the T.
Hi Mike,
Sometimes you can get tickets online last minute, without having to wait outside the park. Beautiful day in Boston today, I think. It’s nice in other parts of the Northeast. Make sure you get to Little Italy if you can. Mike Pastry place is great for some canolli, good name and all :).
Oh, you are so close, someday I hope to meet ya.
Enjoy the game, I am sure you’ll get in. Take the T.
Oh, I almost forgot, you can grab some here at this link (hope my html works)

Mike,
Please tell Matt and Jenna hello for Kayci and me. We can’t wait for them to get back to H-town.

I was working in Boston 2 years ago and found myself in a similar situation.
I found that the ticket prices were way lower at game time at the stadium than on the internet.
I just walked up to a scalper and bought for $65 each. It was such a great experience. The stadium is amazing and the fans are… vocal. Sitting next to me were three generation of Sox fans. The grandpa and father were teaching the two youngsters how to heckle. Very touching - values being handed down a generation.
If you want to head about 45 minutes north, I can show you around Manchester, New Hampshire… Yet, Boston with the Holts and Whites is a win/win situation… Blessings on your time in the North East, it sure is blessing me.
You see the Sox, I’ll be watching the Padres/Rangers [via computer, of course] - have a gloriously fun time. Y’all really deserve it!!
Stubhub has lots of tickets still available.
Don’tmiss the Blue Man Group show in Boston while you are there. Tickets can be expensinve but it’s worth it.
Stubhub.com for tickets
But what is some newbie who doesn’t check the counter and doesn’t know there’s a prize is the millionth visitor?
I HATE typos! The previous post should have read:
