Growing up in Long Beach during the late 60’s early 70’s I took my team of ragtag players up against UCLA every afternoon in the backyard. I learned to put up the fifteen foot bank over the like of Keith Wilkes and Curtis Rowe. Summers were spent down at the concrete floors polishing your game, then once a week down to Laguna Beach courts only to watch an ocean breeze blow your 12′ free throw line jump short off enough to slide off the rim vowing to yourself that you’ll follow your shot next time. When I was at Cypress College I actually got to practice during the summers with Marques Johnson and Swen Nater.
They held poor Belmont to 44 pts after a slow start. All this without Mr. Shipp who should be back next year.
YOu can switch my Duke Conn score it don’t matter one or the other by 7.
