Coming Soon…
From Greg (The Young-Gun Change Agent who is “helping” Mike with his new site):
Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain. There will be a lot of changes and weird things happening throughout the day as we here at PreacherMike.com prepare for the official migration. If you notice some of these weirdnesses, please do not email Mike, or leave a comment.
And please don’t get attached to the current layout. We here at PreacherMike.com are working tirelessly to bring you a design that is not only visually appealing, but will allow you to easily navigate to your favorite posts. Chances are, it will involve the color blue. For testing purposes only, here is a picture of a cat in some sort of helmet.
This post will be removed shortly after the big migration, hereafter known as ‘The Migration of ’06.’ Just think, when you’re bouncing a grandchild on your knee, you can regale them with tales of where you were “back in Ought-Six” when the Great Migration occurred…
Just testing the comments on this new template.
Alright, let’s cross the Sea of Abilene, then. I’m ready!
Looks good. Always appreciate your comments and the ensuing discussion that it usually triggers. Many are encouraged by your words and your life.
You do good work! Are you going to set up links to commentors’ blogs by clicking on their names, such as clicking on “Greg” allows now, but not on “Judy”. Hopefully, you’ll give us access to others’ blogs as we had on blogspot.
Site’s looking good!!
Kathy:
When a person fills out the comment form with their name and email address (which much be valid), there is also a space to add a “Website.” If a person fills that blank in, it turns their name into a hyperlink to their site. Most people will use their blogs or personal sites as their hyperlink destination. Perhaps Jody is not a blogger, and does not have a web-address to send people to. If that’s the case, they could put the URL of their Blogger profile, so people could click on their name and get a taste of who they are. As far as connecting with other bloggers go, WordPress is more than capable of handling that task, as long as all the commenters do their share!
That cat is hilarious.
Do we think the helmet is made from some type of produce? That picture just has me wondering all kinds of things — but mostly, “why?????”
Mike, the reach of your blog goes a bit further than you know. I’ve stored up a bunch of questions for you over the past couple of months, mainly focusing on the pleasant (Ps. 133:1) dynamics that appear to exist between and among a pulpit dude and “his” elders. (Prithee forgive the quotation marks; I’m a little jaded by the “board of directors” mentality in relation to the congregational “CEO.”) I read the on-line stuff from the Highland shepherds, and I must admit to a wistful longing…all the best in your new cyberhome. Hope to have a chance to meet you one day. qb
Sarah – I’m pretty sure that is a sliced lime… but it would have to be a kitten to fit a lime hat… but do kittens look that mature when they’re that small? I dont have much experience with cats, so I couldn’t tell ya.
The larger picture in the most recent post shows that it might possibly be from some sort of melon. I don’t know how many melons have rough rinds like that, though.
I said it earlier over at the “old house,” and I’m saying it again here – the cat has absolutely, without a doubt or pause GOT TO STAY!!
In fact – I think you (Preacher Mike) should throw out a contest here to choose a name for him. He can be your new mascot where he will, as such, receive many accolades from all around the world. We can print up T-shirts to accompany his “mascothood,” wear buttons, posters – take it the whole way.
I just happen to be married to a great ad man who could help you design the whole campaign and I have inside connections on getting all the T-shirts printed.
He could be a great asset to you here, Mike. You know – since you need so much “help” getting people to come by to visit.
Just a few random thoughts here . . . (Can you tell I’ve been stuck at home mostly alone now for 13 1/2 weeks and counting? Do you suppose total insanity is rapidly approaching on the horizon? Nah. I was this way long before. Sad – isn’t it . . ..)
Cheers! Dee
Rock on it and hail to Lord Limey, King of all migration cool cats!
Hey Mike…welcome to your new home…I like it….I think I will come back to visit…
