Hey Mike---you are an agent of change. I love it. I didn't even know there was anything else but blogspot so you are w-a-y-y-y-y ahead of me. I look forward to visiting here daily just as I did on the other.

Greg here...

In case anyone is reading this far down, this evening I will run an import of all the most recent posts and comments to Mike's new site. After that I will add a "redirect" script to this site, so that anyone who types in mikecope.blogspot.com will automatically bounce over to preachermike.com.

We'll probably leave that in place for a few weeks (until everyone updates their bookmarks, etc.), and then remove it. That way, if you have linked to a post on this blogspot blog, your link WILL work again. Hopefully the incovenience of a temporarily broken link won't be too burdensome!

Yeah, Mike -

Danny Sims DOES award Peeps on his blog for that lucky person or persons who first guess what his weekly (early Sunday morning) cell phone artistic up close out of focus photo is. I'm telling ya', he's taken cell phone art to a whole new level. You need to drop by his "place" sometime to see if YOU can guess some of them. They're tough!

However - I just checked out your new digs and have to say you have GOT to keep the cat with the helmet on there on your page somewhere. It actually wouldn't be too bad as your profile picture, you know? That way (since you are such a busy man and all) the blogging world at large wouldn't be able to spot the "real" you if they ran into you somewhere and thus, just as with piles of daily email mail, you could reserve more valuable time for yourself not spent having to stop to discuss the weather, etc, with total strangers who recognized you from your Preacher Mike profile picture.

And as for TCS - Let me tell you about HIM! Talk about like to grouse and be sarcastic! Why he went to the trouble to round up and herd six of his closest friends, to drive 5 1/2 hours from Starkville, Mississippi down to Slidell, Louisiana to volunteer to put a much needed new roof on our home in a short weekend they set aside and then when he arrives here on the scene at 6:30 a.m., he actually would have liked to have come in for a minute out of the cold (this was back in January) to have a hot cup of coffee before he climbed up on the roof, mind you!!

But, luckily, a couple of his more dedicated buddies INSISTED they must get directly to work, no time for chit chat or fellowship between two before unseen, unintroduced bloggers, and they did it. They got the job done. They worked their fannies off all day Saturday, early Sunday morning and STILL had time left to ALL come in and share communion together and to get to love one another.

All of the above is my somewhat feeble lighthearted attempt to publicly (I mean, whose blog is more pubic than yours, Mike?) thank TCS and the other six guys who came with him who Tom and I learned to care deeply about in just a short day and a half because what we're ALL about here - and everywhere else we may go (like over to Preacher Mike's tomorrow morning) is being God's children and acting for Him in this world.

Thanks for the time you spend here with us every day Mike. Thanks. I'm really looking forward to your changes and your move. That's neat! Cool!

But - really - you should KEEP the cat.

Mike, you should have a contest for the first poster at Mikedotcom.

Danny Sims awards Peeps on his blog.

What do you think?

Blessings!

"a somewhat traditional Church of Christ." Hey that's not what my Mama says!

Of course she also says that Alexander Campbell was "close, but he won't make it".

Ok, I'll go back to my corner now. I am realizing the only comments I make at your blog are sarcastic. So, in seriousness. Thank you for the time you share with us and for the wisdom you impart.

Thanks, Mike … please I hope you will forgive me. I love reading your entries, and really look forward to your new ‘site’ – it looks great.

Just get so homesick, sometimes, reading yours and everyone’s thoughts. None of my friends here in the UK blog, much less know what it’s all about. I really miss the kind of transparent Christian fellowship I had in the US, sometimes. That’s not to say we are not blessed here – God is with us! – it’s just that people express themselves and their faith so differently. American Christians seem so far ahead of the rest of us in terms of technology, church methodology, smooth implementation of diverse worship styles, lots and lots of Christian lit and books at fingertip level, and SO MANY PEOPLE! to fill the church sanctuaries (we call that bums on pews over here). Probably not all that important at the end of the day, but I read so much into what you are all getting excited about in your fellowships. I just get homesick, then frustrated, then irritated. Please forgive me. Thanks. You guys are all an inspiration. Sorry for this rant. I do wish you all the best!

TCS - If it helps, I'm still brushing with Crest, still eating Fiber One cereal with almonds and blueberries every morning, still rooting for the Cardinals and Rangers (hope springs eternal), and still preaching in a somewhat traditional Church of Christ. Brand loyalty, baby.

Thanks for checking about the links, Mike.

I've checked out the new site already and am enjoying watching the tweaking that is taking place. Sadly, Migration Master Greg doesn't want us posting comments with our opinions as he's changing it. Where's the fun in that? ;-)

Hey! I thought you had once said you were brand loyal. That you didn't jump ship. And now you are leaving us (me) behind at old blogger.com.

Man this is "a shocking discovery" for me. Does this mean I can jump ship in other areas? I feel a crisis coming on.

Joyce -

I'm asking Greg about the links. Honestly--surprise! surprise!--I just don't know.

I think you'll still find those other blogs, though. E.g., when I click on someone's name who has commented on Wade's blog, it takes me right to their site. And then I can read their profile there.

How very impish of you, Mike - master change agent!

Truly, an impish way to take us into change kicking and screaming. ;)

Will be looking at the new site this afternoon when I get back home from errands and lunch date.

Knowing you, I have no qualms saying in advance of seeing the new site,

Congratulations!! Great move! ;o)

btw-the secret scrambled word I need to type in is "pofat" - is that eubonics for....? Who's been looking through my computer at me today and will they be able to do so from your new site? lol
