This is similar to Rudy Wray with Sunset. When he was a missionary to Central America Rudy hit and killed a child. The mob would have killed him if someone had not referred to him as a “priest.” He was jailed awaiting trial. In the middle of the night he was led to a car outside of the jail and told to leave the country. (Sounds like Peter doesn’t it?) The sister of the Minister of Prisons was a member of the Church and had appealed to him. Rudy was later tried in absentia and found not guilty.

When you consider what our missionaries are exposed to, remember that this kind of thing is not uncommon. God bless all of them. Jeff in the previous post is my son, half way around the world.

It’s nearly 10:30 p.m. Tuesday night and this is the first time I’ve had the chance to stop back by here, but so hoped to hear some good news of the legal kind for your friend Jim Morrison.

I hope to sleep better tonight, but you can be sure - you, too, Jim Morrison - that if I awake I will pray for you in all that is going on there in Zambia. The reason I was thinking about it so much last night as I lay awake was because I knew that Zambia had to be several hours ahead of us here in mid-continent America and hoped, somehow, to have my feeble prayers penetrate the hearts of the officials in Zambia hearing this matter and making a just decision.

I emailed my mom in Abilene, too, to ask her if she’d heard of this tragedy and if my sister, Laura Holland, and Gary, knew of it, since he is a Physician and member at Highland. I’m awaiting my mom’s reply, but know that all their prayers will be with you all, too.

May God richly bless you all and keep you safe, along with the family of the little child.

Thanks, Mike, for asking us to share with you all in this event and to pray with you. I will pray again when I get in bed in just a few moments and keep you all close to my heart in my last prayers before I sleep. What more can I do from here so far away. But that much I CAN do and will.

Jim is such a precious quiet servant..he took such good care of my Mom in the emergency room. The Mann family is on their knees for our brother Jim and his family!

Praying for Jim, Tracy, their boys and the family of little boy.

When Jake stayed the night with us the night Jim left, I heard him telling Connor that his dad was Africa because he liked to help people. How true.

I’ve checked this blog dozens of times today hoping for a positive update. I keep praying and returning to Psalm 62….

Trust in Him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to Him, for God is our refuge.

My prayers have been ongoing, especially at about 2AM our time when Jim’s case was scheduled to be heard. I’ve been unable to get Jim, Tracy, their family and the boy’s family out of my mind.

Please Mike, when you speak or communicate with him, let him know how many prayers are being lifted up for him and for a rapid resolution of the ‘legal’ aspects so he can think about coming home. When possible, please convey that love and prayers are continuing for him without ceasing. I paticipate in two large online prayer groups, which means Jim, family, and boy’s family are being lifted up to the Throne of Grace by over 200 believers all over the world in these two groups.[btw-without divulging names, just the circumstances]

I’ve also had the tragedy of hitting a child with a vehicle. I had a kid run across in front of my car while picking up my sister from school my senior year (He didn’t die, but it was traumatic to watch the ambulance come and strap him down and take him to the hospital). I know the effects that’s had on me even as I drive almost four years later. But I can’t imagine the grief that Jim’s going through right now with this child’s death. My prayers are for the Morrisons with the countless hundreds that I know are praying for Jim.
