I read on the Blogger home that there was some maintanence being done on Saturday. That may have been it.

I'm honored you quoted me, Mike. College and church camp was always my strong suit. Late nights. Now I teach HS and we start at 7:30 am. In college theatre arts classes 9 am was earrrrly. Of course, Adam Hester rehearsals go from 7 to 11 pm. An 8 am class was taken at one's own risk. As a theatre teacher now, I always feel bad for my first 2 or 3 classes. I don't really wake up until 10 am or so. No matter how early I go to sleep the night before.

I just have link to your blog-so there is no problem...who want to type that in every day? ;)

Man, sometimes I wish I was a morning person-my average time of getting to bed this past week has been about 3 am-definitely NOT a good thing when you have 3 8:00 mornings in a row...and then the WTGC yesterday-I am exhausted!! I think I will go sleep now ;)

“Morning people tell students that 8:00 would be a great time for a big round of classes. And we suggest 8:00/8:15 for first service. 8:00 for the Saturday morning session to begin after late-night programs on Friday (at the Zoe conferences). Men's breakfasts at 6:30. Body pump at 5:30. Etc.”

Oh my goodness! Just reading that...UGH!

Yeah, I'm definitely that night person. It's been a stretch for me to get up for a 6:30 AM Bible study this semester. But you can ask my friends...I have made it...most weeks!

On a completely unrelated note, I learned some more of my Narnia story today. I was telling my dad about how lots of people had written about their dads reading The Chronicles to them before bedtime and how many dads had written about reading the books to their kids. He told me that he began reading The Chronicles to us because of something you said in a sermon!! He said you made reference to The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe in a sermon, and he thought, 'I've had those books for a long time...I should probably start reading them to my kids!' So, I guess I have you in part to thank for my precious childhood memories of Narnia reading before bedtime.

And for anyone who's interested, KGNZ is playing the Focus on the Family Radio Theater production of The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe on Saturday mornings at 11:30 AM. You should tune in!

I'm definitely a morning person. In college, I tried to get all of my classes done by 3-4 p.m. My brain basically went downhill after 4pm. The latest class I had was from 7 - 9 p.m. and I barely made it through each week, even though it was my most interesting class. I couldn't even pull the all-nighter; I could get up at 3 am if I had to, but there was no way that I could stay up without going to sleep. I think the closest I came to an all-nighter was staying up until 1 am and then getting up at 3:30 am.

Anyone have my sleeping curse? I don't know if I'm a morning person or a night person. The thought of getting up early (before 6:30) is horrible to me, but I hate staying up late. I get grouchy and annoyed. I know I'll be grumpy all the next day. Give me 11:00PM-7:00AM and I'm good to go. Oh, I just had a thought... maybe I'm the normal one! Thanks for letting me work through that, I feel much better about myself now!

And Joel Quile... the day you go to bed at 10:00 at night will be the same day Kim is mean to everyone she meets! Ha!

Mike,

Since I've added your blog to my Favorites, it doesn't seem to matter if today's with or without the WWWs - it just shows up with no problem with one exception; should I or should I not open my big mouth today. Guess which one usually wins out in that struggle. LOL

"The Early Bird gets the worm!"

"The Second Rat gets the cheese!"

Don't worry Mike, your sleep pattern is both biblical and unbiblical. Jesus got up early to pray and also got mad at the disciples for being such sleepy heads.

I must admit, I've actually enjoyed the transistion from youth to college to senior minister. It has been a transition from 2:00am to midnight to 10pm.

9:00AM!?!?!
It's the middle of the night!!
I really MUST get breakfast over with right now or the day's duties will never get done. ;)

Yep! Gracious living for me.
2nd service on Sundays, afternoon appointments only please, to sleep about midnight, but up and ready to go at 8:30am sharp. :O)[Truthfully? The wake up time in this household is 7:00am]

I'm definitely one that is at the mercy of the morning person's scheduling, which often makes me want to cry out !MERCY!

4:08AM and you're posting, Mike??? A gracious, evening person could well be getting ready to sleep right about that time. LOL

I agree with the sun.
Get up when it's shining and go to sleep after it has ducked behind Hawaii's horizon. LOL

We started a college Bible Study at the last church I was at. We started at 9 or 10 PM. It was the only time convenient to everyone. It was actually great in comparison to every college age Sunday School class I have been a part of.
