Amazing, Mike! My long-time running buddy, Dan Hopkins and I along with our wives were in Anchorage just before you were there. We spent the week of June 13 there and then ran in the Mayor's Midnight Sun Marathon on Saturday. What an incredible place! Look forward to sharing stories with you when we are next together. Quite different from rural or urban Texas!

When I was yearbook editor at ACU, we had done a feature on a guy who had started a juggling club on campus. The photographer came back with pictures of the guy (a friend of mine) juggling and wearing a shirt that said "Jugglers Have the Most Balls." I thought it was funny but we had to photoshop it out.

Yeah that is my son. He also has a t-shirt that says, Jesus surfs without a surfboard or something to that nature.

I was taken back when I saw the porn star shirt. But it is a true statement. Jesus even loves mothers who mess up and disappoint their children.

I saw this t-shirt on an ACU student and it inspired a pretty big argument amongst my MDiv friends and myself about it's propriety:

"Jesus loves porn stars."

I thought it made a good point.

After I married Rob I saw a picture of him wearing a T-shirt that said "I like my bad attitude." So glad I didn't see it before the I Do's! But he was only a college freshman...though he swears he had to have been in high school. We are going to burn the picture before our kids are teenagers!:)

I've been in the Netherlands this week and at my hotel in Den Helder last night it was still light after midnight and about 4:30 this morning it was definitely light enough to see. I guess we must be at similar latitudes!

I'm amazed at what people are willing to wear on a T-shirt. Sometimes they are meant to mock the zeitgeist of pop culture, but some are intentionally destructive.

A friend of mine saw a T-shirt for sale in a NYC shop that floored him. It was a plain white shirt with large black letters that read:

"F*** you, you F***ing, F***!"

The shirt had no little stars substituing for letters. It actually spelled it all out.

I'd say that's pretty much blows the lid off the vulgarity per word scale.

p.s.--OF COURSE the T-shirt was a joke, as Kyle said. Like the bumper sticker I saw that said "Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you". It's a joke. Don't try to analyze the wearer. It's a joke. Lighten up.

Kyle,

I don't know that I've ever heard psycho-babble put so eloquently. ;-)

Perhaps I'm cynical, but I'm pretty sure your last explanation is the correct one.
