I like Tolkien, Shrek and Shrek 2, Grisham, Yancey’s editorials in CT, Rick Reilly’s editorials in SI, grilled steaks, rainy mornings, fajitas, Kudo Chocolate Chip bars, clever humor, the Eagles’ Greatest Hits, family hikes, Highland elder meetings, long jogs on Saturday mornings, 104 degree jacuzzis, Nickel Creek, playing catch with my boys, and long, slow dinners with my wife. And going to bed early after a long baseball practice. Goodnight.

Truthfully, I only watch it early in the morning while I’m at the health club. I’ve liked Soledad O’Brien since she was a weekend “Today Show” host. And isn’t “Fox News” an oxymoron?
I hafta have the BBC world news and cheese dip — or spinach dip. But guacamole is just kinda scary… and I’ll refrain from comment about the news networks. ^_~

Good words, Buster. We do, indeed, all serve the same job. This blog is a place for me to blather about things like news shows. But the larger issue is that we who disagree on things like news shows, politics, and school choices can find a beautiful “unity amid diversity.” Wouldn’t that be a witness to the world?
How did I write “we all serve the same job”? Obviously, I meant “the same God.” Wow–there is a sermon in there somewhere.
That was like watching Michael Jordan miss a lay-up or Tiger missing a tap in. Every once in a while it does us good to know you are human too! Or should I say it does everybody else good………..all I have to do is remember back to those days when you were playing for Knights!

It seems to me that if Fox News (brought to us by the people who have supplied the most vile stuff on TV) were truly balanced and nonpartisan, I would hear from friends to the right and the left who like it. To this point, I’ve only heard positive comments from people who tend to be ULTRA conservative. Something about that makes me believe that it is hardly “fair and balanced.” It is a network that has found a market for the far right wing. That’s fair enough. But let’s not pretend it’s real news–or impartial in any meaningful sense.

I’m so glad you people get time to watch the news! I do good to read the yahoo headlines and check out two or three blogs every other day. Who has time for TV? I can’t say that I think there is any unbiased news on the tube or in print these days. How did we all come to be such experts with such strong opinions? …I include me in that “we”! Seems the one thing all of us in the good ole USA can agree on is that we all have an opinion. God bless us!
